Who is suitable for M22 Skin Rejuvenation?Male and female who is bothered by skin discolouration, hyperpigmentations, and other visible signs of ageing. When it is not suitable You should not have Lumenis® M22™ Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatment if you: Are pregnant or breastfeeding Are receiving radiotherapy or chemotherapy Have active infection on the treated area Have immunosuppressive disease Have a history of keloid scarring Have exposure to sun or artificial tanning during the 3-4 weeks prior to treatment Use of photosensitive medications and/or herbs that may cause sensitivity to laser light such as isotretinoin, tetracycline, or Accutane in the past 6 months

Is there any down time for M22 Treatment?Minimal downtime is involved post IPL and laser but usually patients can resume to normal activities right away. Redness and mild swelling can last up to 24 hours Where pigmentation has been treated; lesions may initially turn darker and scab over within a few days after treatment. This can last up to a week. Occasionally some patients can experience minimal bruising in areas where larger vessels have been treated. This is very rare but may occur in patients who are prone to bruising. A sun burn sensation and warmth on the skin may be present on the skin for up to 24hrours aftrer IPL and Resurfx treatments. A cold compress and cooling will be applied on your skin to minimise this.

How many sessions recommend?The number of ipl or laser sessions needed will be determined during your consultation. This is dependent on the severity and the type of skin condition needing treatment. Usually, a course of 3-6 treatments will be recommended with sessions being spaced out every 4-6 weeks at our laser skin clinic in Buckinghamshire.

Before and After careBefore Treatment Test Patch is essential. Speak with an experienced practitioner. Be sure that you are a suitable candidate prior to the treatment. After Treatment Avoid direct sun exposure and wear daily sunscreen of SPF 50 Keep skin moisturized at all times. Makeup can be worn 24-48 hours after treatment Avoid skin care products that contain benzoyl peroxide, Retin-A, Retinol, or glycolic acids Avoid strenuous exercising, hot baths, showers or sauna in the first 24-48 hours
