Dark Circle
Dark circles under the eyes can affect both men and women for a variety of reasons. Fatigue darkens the complexion and exacerbates dark circles, although this is not the main cause.
Pigmentation is the main cause of dark circles, although age, genetics, regular eye strain and seasonal allergies can also contribute to dark circles. Ageing thins the skin around the eyes, exposing the veins and blood vessels beneath.
Genetic traits such as thin skin on the lower eyelids may create bags under the eyes similar to those of old age. Hay fever nasal congestion produces poor blood circulation, which dilates the veins and darkens the area around the eyes.
